14 years on and Bill’s words still ring true, now that’s good writing.
Peter Sagan apologizes.I didn’t want to, but now I have to. I’d like to share my opinion. As an admin of Daily Sagan blog & twitter, as well as a Slovak who happens to know Peter personally. In the video he said he should have never done that. Agreed. But I’m not going to judge if it was disrespectful or not - I am a woman myself though - the only one who can say sth on this is the podium girl. However, I am utterly puzzled to see how far this had to go. I mean the video apology. Just one moment, one shot, one photo posted on twitter. And now we see him being forced to do sth like this. Here in Slovakia Peter is far from being a national hero. He has lots of fans, but also there are many people who just don’t care about him. Yet absolutely nobody is offended by what he did. I’m not saying that people are laughing their asses off but all media and public are just like, ‘What the fuss?’ C’mon, this is Sagan and his silly ways, his I-don’t-give-a-f***ness attitude. Never giving a damn about what others think, never letting anyone cramp his style. Just having fun 24/7. He crossed the line. But did they have to tweet him into THIS? A lesson to learn, no doubt. but did he really have to learn the hard way? And what kind of lesson, anyway? For in his case this is not about age, this is about personality. So where’s the real point? If they believe this is going to humiliate him or stop him from doing victory celebrations and wheelies, then I’m afraid they won’t see that happening any time soon. Because humble people cannot be humiliated. You can tell that he is sorry for what he did, but in fact he’s much more sorry for what it caused. I hope nobody and nothing will ever stop him from having fun because, as he said, the moment he stops having fun will be the moment he ends his career.
I agree with dailysagan. This thing has gotten WAY out of control.
Gent-Wevelgem 2013
The one and only Peter Sagan takes the win in style!
Lovely headbadge for forthcoming bike brand New Albion Cycles, a sister ship to Soma Fabrications in California.
There’s a superb description of the design process for the new headbadge here. Hadn’t realised that Sir Frances Drake landed in Marin County. Perhaps Mr Gary Fisher’s pleasure in fine tweeds is the result of some genetic connection?
Neato!
Burry was one of the greatest talents the sport has ever seen. Few people had the fitness to dominate XC World Cups as well as the skills to rally a hardtail 29er the way he did. It is truly tragic to hear of his passing in such a terribly way.
RIP Burry, you were great inspiration to many.
Edvald Boasson Hagen. On a chute.
Norwegians no how to get down during the offseason.

More NEW items we’ll be debuting at our booth this weekend but will then be available on our site!
There is a guy riding his bike with a kitten on his shoulder. I want a shoulder kitten for cycling purposes. It would need a tiny helmet though.
Why don’t I have a camera with me?
London 2012: Team Norway
I’m glad that Phil Liggett and I agree that some of the fans at professional bike races are
“nutters” (fuckheads IMO), and that this trend should stop.
Seeing someone dressed like a douche running along with the riders does nothing for me. Except when a rider punches one in the face. I enjoy that. A LOT.
